Playback and Remote Authorization

  1. According to the documentation as well as some of the posts here in the forum, the auth process doesn't have to happen on the same device as the app that will be doing the browsing. However, I don't understand how that works when it comes to playback of Watch Instantly movies. The JS API doesn't ask for keys or oauth_tokens, it simply takes a URL and plays it. I assume it does this using cookies in the browser, but that defeats the purpose of having the person authorize access from a different computer. Let's say, for instance, one wished to make a set-top box (similar to the Roku piece) that could browse and playback watch instantly content without the use of a browser and a mouse/keyboard. The user would authorize access using their PC and the token/secret would get transferred to the set-top box. At this point, it is able to browse and interact with the queue, but how does it play back?

Speaking of playback, is there a way to play a WI movie and NOT use the JS API in a browser? Is there a stand-alone version of Silverlight that one could use instead of using a browser and the JS API? If so, how would one obtain the URL to the actual movie and not just the ID that is passed into the JS API for playback (or are the one and the same)?

    Thanks!
