Personalized Database of Movies Seen - fully integrated with Netflix

  1. Application Request:
    1) As a new subscriber to Netflix, I'd really value an application that accumulates a database of the movies I've seen via Netflix and automatically hides those (if I wish) from being presented to me again as "Movies I'd like to see."
    2) Furthermore, I'd like to be able to import an Excel or Text list of movies that I've already seen and add this to my personal database, thus hiding those movies too. (OK, I'll admit I may be unusual in having such a list in electronic form but I do)
    3) If I rate prior movies that I import, why not be able to add that rating data into my personal database, influencing what Netflix presents to me as movies of interest?
    4) Then I want to be able to query this personalize database, asking questions like: "Show me all the movies directed by Hitchcock and including Jimmy Stewart that I have not already seen."
    5) And I'd like to be able to export reports to view this database and manipulate it.

Young people may be able to recall every movie they've seen in their life... but as we get older that number of movies grows significantly, our memories fade, and I predict a blur will begin to emerge on the internet between feature releases and independently produced worthy films... As Netflix moves toward on-line distribution/download, the intellectural property of Netflix might not just be the distribution methods used but also the personalized tools for helping folks decide what they want to watch in the coming week.

Can this open API enable someone to create this capability? I know I don't have the programming talent, but I'd be willing to pay a modest annual fee for this capability.
