Is there any plans on adding the Top 100 and/or New Releases list to the API? I'm currently reading your RSS feed and displaying data through the feed info.
Also, if you are planning on adding the New Releases list, is it possible to order it by popularity (the number of reviews)? It's tough to find a list of widely released DVDs in the current feed, it would make adding popular new releases to a users' queue easy.
In the next major release we'll be supporting very robust queries against the catalog that will let you slice and dice it in a number of different ways. This will probably release early next year, as there is a lot of back-end and interface design work to get this right.
We probably won't let you sort by the number of reviews, but we will let you sort by average rating, and a subscriber's actual or predicted rating.
Any updates on how Top 100 and New Releases are coming along?
I'd love to integrate these into my project and not deal with the potential issues, constant headaches, and general flakiness involved with rolling my own solution :-)
