Previews and Trailers

From the example rest code it shows that previews are available. However the links don't seem to show up in the actual results, unless i missed it. You can manually go to the /previews link but it then appears that the links to the flash trailer are dynamic in nature. Are previews actually supported?

Previews are not supported at this time. I've corrected the XML examples that reference previews in the documentation.

We are considering previews for a future release, although they'll likely first appear as an HTML widget via the JavaScript API vs. URLs returned via the REST API, given the use restrictions around this content.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely looking forward to previews/trailers. I've had trouble finding even finding a provider for small non-profit audience/usage.

Are previews still not included in the API?

We'll be making previews available in widget form from the javascript API at a later date.

    Any update on this wdiget?

    Thanks!

It released last week actually. Check out our blog for info and HackingNetflix for the first blog integration example.

    Michael,
The new widgets are great for web apps, but my app is a plugin to MediaPortal (a windows application.) :(

Will there be a way to access trailers directly with the V2 API?

Thanks again for all your hard work & Happy Holidays!

    Hi Michael,

Is there any way to access a title's preview independently of the sidebar? It would be easier to integrate into some Netflix API websites and apps if we had that extra versatility.

Still a lot of those pesky, non-technical issues to contend with (e.g. you'll notice that the widget shadowboxes the preview. There's a reason for that.).

Michael would have the last word, but for now it looks like previews aren't going to be part of the general 2.0 release.

OK no problem. Thanks for the answer.
